DESCRIPTION:Join us for our November Women's Networking Luncheon featuring Dr. Diana Spahlinger McCarthy speaking on Hormones and Hot Flashes.\n\nDr. Diana Spahlinger McCarthy's father was a physician\, and after accompanying him to work on Take Your Daughter to Work Day in elementary school\, she decided to follow in his footsteps. Dr. Spahlinger McCarthy chose to become an OB/GYN after her labor and delivery rotation at the University of Michigan Medical School.\n\n "There were so many things that make this specialty appealing\, but the most compelling was the relationships that physicians form with their patients\," Dr. Spahlinger McCarthy said. "When a woman chooses an OB/GYN\, she isn't just choosing someone to do her annual exam\, she is trusting you to care for her family."\n\nDr. Spahlinger McCarthy's clinical interests include minimally invasive gynecologic surgery\, contraceptive management\, infertility\, management of abnormal bleeding and low and high risk obstetrics.\n\nOutside of work Dr. Spahlinger McCarthy enjoys swimming\, cooking\, baking\, gardening and spending time with her husband. She also enjoys traveling\, and while in resident training at Duke University Medical Center\, Dr. Spahlinger McCarthy spent six weeks in Tanzania working at the Kilimanjaro Medical Center.
